"Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Be very careful, then, how you live -- not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
I read my Bible every morning. Recently, I kept falling asleep as I read the scripture. Imagine my surprise as my drowsy eyes read in chapter five of Ephesians: "Wake up, O sleeper!" My eyes popped open immediately!
Reading the Bible every day is very important in our Christian walk. We need to live in a wise way in these evil days. The only place we will receive the instruction we require is from God's Word. As David writes in Psalm 119: "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path."
I thank God for the personal wake-up call. He gave me the opportunity to feast on His Word.
Dear God, Thank You for providing us with Your Word so we can gain the wisdom we need to walk in Your ways.
