Psalm 37:7
7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Psalm 25:3
3. None of those who wait for Thee will be ashamed.

But we hate to wait.
It is against our nature.  We have an instant society.
Waiting for a return phone call or text can drive us crazy.

Wait Prayerfully - Waiting is active, not passive.
Psalm 38:15
15 I wait for you, O LORD; you will answer, O Lord my God.

Wait in Faith - We need to be expectant.  We need to believe the Lord's promises. We need to believe that He is true to His word.
Psalm 130:5
I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope.

Wait in Patience and Perseverance - If we give up on God and try to make things happen ourselves, we will hinder His help.  He will wait while we try and fail. It is fruitless to try to go on without the Lord's strength and expertise.  It's like trying to fly without the wings! 31 But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.

Power to soar!
Strength to run.
Help to walk.

Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Wait For The Lord

Many times we feel overwhelmed and insufficient for what we face in this life.  But the Lord makes special promises to those who wait upon Him for strength and deliverance.
