"And Enoch lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Methuselah. Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him."
5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Enoch walked with God all the days of his life. He did this by faith.
How deep was Enoch's faith?
Enoch believed that God existed.
6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
Many believe that God exists, but go no farther. In fact, a majority of people would say that they believe there is a God.
Enoch believed that God is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
KJV - "diligently seek Him"
While many believe that God exists, only a small minority seek Him. Most people have an idea in their head about the nature of God, and they don't feel they have to seek Him to find out if what they believe is true. (Example: Some say they don't believe a loving God could ever allow anyone to go to Hell. But if they sought God in His Word, they would know the truth.)
Most of those who seek God believe that He will reward them. We seek Him for salvation. We know our reward will be Heaven. We seek Him for answers to prayer. For healing. For help. For blessings.
The faith of many is such that when they seek God, their eyes are on the reward. They are looking for what God will do for them.
But Enoch's faith went beyond just seeking blessings from God.
Enoch believed everything God said, and sought to please Him.
5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God.
To walk with God implies that Enoch subjected his life to God's will. Where God led, he followed. When God gave a command, Enoch believed He meant it, and he obeyed God. Enoch's faith went beyond just looking at the reward or the blessing. His faith meant looking at God, and trying to please Him.
Very few have this kind of faith.

Once it was the blessing, Now it is the Lord;
Once it was the feeling, Now it is His Word.
Once His gifts I wanted, Now the Giver own;
Once I sought for healing, Now Himself alone.
All in all forever, Jesus will I sing:
Everything in Jesus, And Jesus everything.
Once it was my working, His it hence shall be;
Once I tried to use Him, Now He uses me.
Once the power I wanted, Now the Mighty One;
Once for self I labored, Now for Him alone.
Once I hoped in Jesus, Now I know He's mine;
Once my lamps were dying, Now they brightly shine.
Once for death I waited, Now His coming hail;
And my hopes are anchored, Safe within the vail.
9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
1 Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.
Enoch believed God's Word, and told others.
14 Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones 15 to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him."
Enoch walked with God
He believed that God is.
He believed that God rewards those who seek Him.
He believed everything God said, and tried to please Him.
He believed God's Word, and told others.
