8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us.
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
This is the greatest demonstration of love ever - the God of the Universe gave Himself up to be crucified on a cross, so that we can be justified and forgiven of our sin.
Christ on the Cross is the Height of Hate
18 For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.
All Jesus did in His earthly ministry was heal sick people, set people free from demonic oppression, raise the dead, and teach the truth of God. He never sinned, He never hurt anyone. But the crowds still cried "crucify him, crucify him!" They were incited to hate by the enemy of our souls.
Christ on the Cross - A 'Cross'roads to Life for Believers
13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
As Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross, so were our sins, and so was the Law. By His death on the cross, Satan and his demons were defeated, stripped of power.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
On the cross Jesus reconciled all things to Himself. He made peace for us.
Christ on the Cross Separates the Lost and the Found
1 Corinthians 1:17-18
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel -- not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
The Cross of Christ separates all people into two groups. It is a Crossroads for all of us.For some, Christ's death on the cross is the power of God to save us. For most, who are perishing, it is foolishness.
Christ on the Cross Separates Believers From the World
14 May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
The Day the Lord was crucified on the Cross was the greatest, and most unusual day, in history. Luke 23:44-45 tells us that the sun stopped shining for three hours in the middle of the day as Jesus suffered on the cross. It was not overcast like many other days. The Bible says the sun actually stopped shining as Jesus hung on the cross. It was dark.
As Jesus died, the veil in the temple was ripped in two from top to bottom, not by human hands, but by God. The way in the Holy of Holies was thrown open. We were made welcome in God's presence at the Throne of Grace.
Why did these things happen? The God of the Universe was being executed on the Cross.
