Sacrifice of Praise

Hebrews 13:15
15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-- the fruit of lips that confess his name.

Five Reasons to praise the Lord

He will never leave you
Hebrews 13:5
5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

One thing is sure - money will certainly leave us.  Stock market down, prices up. Jesus, however, will never leave us. He will never forsake us. We need to love the Lord with all our heart and trust in Him fully.  If we love money and trust in it, we will be severely disappointed.

The Lord is my helper
Hebrews 13:6
6 So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

What is the worst man can do?
Luke 12:4-7
4 "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Jesus Christ is the same always
Hebrews 13:8
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

The world is rapidly changing, mostly for the worse. But Jesus never changes. He is always loving, always faithful, always perfect in His ways.

Jesus suffered to make us holy
Hebrews 13:12
12 And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood.

We have a home in Heaven
Luke 10:20
20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

Hebrews 13:14
14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.

Our Sacrifices
Hebrews 13:15-16
15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise -- the fruit of lips that confess his name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
