3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. 4 Trust in the LORD forever, for in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength. (NKJ)
Peace is a rare and valuable thing:
To the person who has been diagnosed with cancer, and to his family.
To the person who is in dire financial straits.
To the person who suddenly finds himself in imminent danger (tornados - hundreds of homes destroyed).
To the person agonizing over a big test or term paper.
To the person living with the threat of terrorism or war (bombings in Israel).
To the couple who are struggling to keep their marriage alive.
To the person who has lost a loved one.
Peace is a rare and valuable thing to everyone. We all need peace.
What is translated as "perfect peace" is really "peace, peace" in the Hebrew
Double peace, full peace, all kinds of peace
Peace without and within.
Peace even as the world is in chaos.
The Lord is the one who gives peace. He is the only one who can protect us and give us peace in our hearts.
'You will keep him in perfect peace'
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."
Peace is given to the person "..whose mind is stayed on You.'
Looking to God, thinking about God, talking to God, waiting on God, seeing all things in relationship to God.
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
We have peace because we trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
'Because he trusts in You'
We look back and see that our sin is forgiven. Christ has died for us.
We look up, and see that God is on the throne. He is in total control.
We look down, and see that He guides our steps.
We look down farther, and see no hell for us, because there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
We look all around, and see that He is working all things together for our good .
We look ahead, and see a glorious future with the Lord in Heaven.
We look inward, and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, keeps our hearts and minds by Christ Jesus.
Wherever we look, we see Jesus, because we trust Him, and our mind is stayed upon Him. Then we have "peace, peace."
