Lending to the Lord - A Wise Investment

The Lord says giving to the poor is the same as lending to Him, and He always gives back a reward.
Proverbs 19:17
17 He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward him for what he has done.

Giving is way more blessed than not giving.
Proverbs 11:24-25
24 One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. 25 A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

Acts 20:35
.. Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

Matthew 6:3-4
3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Matthew 10:42
42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."

Give a little, reap a little; Give a lot, reap a lot.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Luke 6:38
38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

The Lord wants us to be givers.
Matthew 5:42
42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

Psalm 37:21
21 The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously;

Generosity brings blessing, which enables more generosity.
2 Corinthians 9:7-11
7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever." 10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
